PhD | Political Scientist | Gender, Sexuality, War & Intimate Governance
My most recent publications: Transitional Justice and Its Queer Discontents in Armenia: Notes on War, Peace and Care. International Journal of Transitional Justice, 2026. (with T. Klepikova)

I am a political scientist and gender studies scholar specializing in the governance of gender, sexuality, and reproduction in war-affected and post-Soviet societies. I am currently a Senior FWO Postdoctoral Fellow at KU Leuven (Belgium).
I hold a PhD in Political Science from Humboldt University, Berlin, and have held competitive international fellowships, including Fulbright (University of Florida), the Swedish Institute Fellowship (Lund University), and the MSCA EUTOPIA Fellowship at the University of Ljubljana.
My research examines how contemporary conflicts reshape intimate life, including parenthood, kinship, gender roles, and sexual citizenship, and how these transformations intersect with state-building, nationalism, and geopolitical positioning. Empirically, I focus on Eastern Europe and the South Caucasus, with particular attention to Ukraine and other post-Soviet contexts.
Across my work, I have analyzed LGBTQ politics, anti-gender mobilisations, queer migration, and gendered citizenship as part of broader struggles over sovereignty, democracy, and moral regulation in times of war and political upheaval.
I am also a co-founder of Equal Opportunities Platform, a Ukrainian NGO promoting gender equality and minority inclusion, and a recipient of the Emma Goldman Award (2022) for feminist scholarship and human rights activism.
